Tech Lead - Vue.js - Oslo

As the Tech Lead, you'll play a crucial role in how we present and deliver our media. Your team will be responsible for excelling in digital storytelling, personalizing user experiences, and developing innovative ways to consume news. You'll build solutions for a range of market-leading publications in sectors like shipping, seafood, energy, and business news.

Our approach is driven by data, leveraging insights to continuously improve. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and analytics experts. Together with product and design teams, you'll innovate solutions that elevate the user experience and enhance our digital journalism.

Your Role:

* Lead a distributed team of developers while collaborating with experts from digital marketing, subscriptions, and other areas.
* Work closely with product and design teams to deliver high-quality products and services, bridging the gap between technical and key business stakeholders.
* Report to the Head of Engineering and contribute to the development and execution of technical strategies.

Your Day-to-Day:

* Provide technical guidance and support to your team, taking a hands-on approach to improve and develop new functionalities.
* Maintain code quality by enforcing coding standards, conducting code reviews, and implementing quality assurance processes.
* Utilize modern development patterns and agile methodologies to streamline collaboration between product and development teams.
* Optimize frontend performance, including load times, bundle sizes, and implementing lazy loading techniques.
* Architect scalable and maintainable front-end applications, making critical decisions on structure and integration strategies.

We are looking for someone skilled in solving complex problems, optimizing performance, and making architectural decisions that align with both technical and business objectives.

Key Qualifications:

* Extensive hands-on experience with Vue.
* Strong understanding of JavaScript, CSS, and Microservice Architecture on the frontend.
* Leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor a team of developers.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively with designers, backend developers, and other stakeholders.
* Fluency in English is essential; a Scandinavian language is a plus.
